La Mesa Village Car Show, Unsteady Band Night, Drink Specials

The La Mesa Village Car Show is coming up and it starts... Tomorrow! YES, Thursday, June 2nd, it's back, they've pieced it together and from the looks of it it's gonna be a good car show season!

Now for the Unsteady part. Legendary San Diego Ska band Unsteady is returning to Pete's Place this Saturday, June 4th with special guests from LA, Foulplay. Get to skankin' and shakin' it up to this great rocksteady sound. There was something else going on that day too...

DRINK SPECIALS. $2 wells, some calls and domestic draughts/drafts 10AM-6PM everyday. Rejoice.

Band Night: 3 Spoke Wheel, Saturday May 21st at 9PM!

"San Diego's Finest Classic Rock!" Well that's what they call themselves at least. Personally, I'm not going to argue with them because Chuck Palumbo is HUGE! Yes Chuck Palumbo, Former WWE superstar, is the guitar player for 3 Spoke Wheel. I'll try to whip up a graphic for y'all since he won't get us the logo HINT HINT! (I hope chuck is reading this...) Anyway, get their early, this one's gonna draw a crowd! This Saturday night at 9PM!

The Eruption is back! 4/23

They're baaaaack! The Eruption will be back on April 23rd, live at Pete's Place. They're also bringing The Motel Blackouts along with them. The Eruption starts around 9:30PM and The Motel Blackouts go on around 11PM. Good, original, live music at a good bar. Bring your friends, have some drinks. A little birdy told me this is going to be the biggest The Eruption show to date....Volcanoes and dynamite. Boom.

5th Annual Buddy Blue Fest

 

If Bernard "Buddy" Seigal (stage name, "Buddy Blue") were alive today, and he hadn't left his post as OC Weekly music editor years earlier, he'd be in charge of the blog you are reading right now.

 

I wish I could say the same thing as a lowly neighborhood bar blog/website lackey, but Matt Cocker over at the OC Weekly can. Read that article if you get a chance, click the blue underlined words above.

I was unfortunate to never have met Buddy Blue, but having met all of the people his life and his music have affected... Well, I kind of feel like I know him and he's a rad guy. His music is just as good.

It's been 5 years since his passing on April 2nd, 2006 at the young young age of 48. Too soon. I was actually sitting in Pete's that day, and I'll never forget it. He ment SO much, to a lot of people.

Musician. Critic. Friend. Father. Whatever the reason is, come in and have a drink; enjoy his music and celebrate the people around you. After all, that's what it's all about. I can only imagine he's bellied up to the dive bar equivalent of Pete's Place in the sky right now, waiting in anticipation to hear his tunes played on the anniversary of his death. Watching his friends and his family enjoy it.

The Farmers this Saturday, the 26th of Feb.

Friendly Farmer's reminder coming at ya! It's wednesday today, get your drink on. BUT don't forget to check out The Farmer's this Saturday, the 26th at Pete's Place. Don't worry I'll remind you all, if you're as drunk as I will be by the end of the night you're gonna need it.

The Farmer's return Feb. 26th

What a super weekend. Green Bay won, Football season is over. Now that it's over, we can move on to bigger and better things. The Farmer's will be back to rock the house on Saturday, the 26th of February. Always a fun time, great music and good drinks.

Happy New Year!

Holidays are over, the new year has begun and we're ready to kick it off right. In time. Bands, and booze and basketball... Sorry needed another word that starts with B... for effect... Super Bowl is coming up too. We're gonna have a little something cookin' up for Super Bowl XLV(that's 45) February 6th, 2011. Band Night Outta Sync, Sept. 11th Live Music

The La Mesa Village Car show may be over for this year, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still stop by  the village. Why? Well, I'll tell you. The self-proclaimed best cover band in San Diego, Outta Sync, will be playing at Pete's Place Saturday, September 11th. Come by and have a cocktail, and enjoy some great music with some friends.
